Why do you serve on the Board of Trustees?
Emerson has been an important part of my life as both a student and a parent. I’m grateful for the opportunity to give back and help preserve what makes Emerson special while thoughtfully planning for its future.
What wows you about Emerson School?
Emerson’s ability to really know kids as individuals. Encouraging their curiosity, challenging them to grow, and giving them room to become themselves.
If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
Teleportation. It would dramatically improve my efficiency as the evening Uber driver for my kids.
What did/do you want to be when you grew up?
A farmer and President.
What would surprise people about you?
I’m a longtime aviation enthusiast and private pilot, and apparently I’d rather build a dining room table than buy one, I’m up to six.
What do you do when you’re not working or at a BOT meeting?
I love working in my vegetable garden, spending time with my family, and tackling the occasional project that usually becomes much more complicated than I expected.
Who/what inspires you?
I’m inspired by people who build things, whether that’s a business, a piece of furniture, a community, or just a better way of doing something.
