Established in 2017 to honor legends of Emerson Sigrid Bower, Bill Schrock, Peggy Wilson and Tim Wilson, the Emerson Faculty Professional Development Fund will support ongoing professional learning opportunities for Emerson teachers.
Excellent teaching is a hallmark of Emerson school. Beloved teachers have indelibly shaped the culture of Emerson, created special memories for students and families, and nurtured a passion for learning that lasts a lifetime. This fund will provide for faculty members’ efforts to enhance their effectiveness in the classroom, staying abreast of the latest teaching strategies, technologies, and educational philosophy.
“One who dares to teach must never cease to learn.” – John Cotton Dana, 1912
Faculty who spend time honing their teaching skills become more effective instructors, which translates to better educational experiences and outcomes for their students. A fund that promotes professional excellence for teachers is a fitting way to honor these extraordinary educators as they retire from Emerson.
The Emerson Faculty Professional Development Fund is an expendable fund to be used to support teacher development at the discretion of Emerson’s faculty administrators.
If you prefer to make an endowed gift that will provide support for Emerson in perpetuity, please direct your gift to Emerson’s general Endowment Fund.
Regardless of the size or form of your gift, you may give it in honor or memory of someone special to you. We will gladly inform the honoree of your gift.
