Summer at Emerson 2013 Brochure

Summer at Emerson 2013 information is now available!  Don't miss out on some of our popular camps; last summer had the most camps fill and you don't want to miss out on the fun this year!  We've brought back some of our most popular camps, including Wack-Olympics twice this summer, many more baking camps, and double the amount of last year's LEGO Robotics camps!

Last year's new format of individual full-days of fun during the 4th of July week went so well, we're offering them again on July 1st, 2nd and 3rd.  More details can be found on page 9 of the brochure.

Want to submit a drawing for this years Summer at Emerson t-shirt?  Submissions are accepted through May 16th, so send those drawings in!  Details on page 22 of the brochure.

Our camps are open to all students who are enrolled in Kindergarten through eighth grade in the 2012-2013 school year, regardless of school attended.  In fact, almost 80% of our campers are not Emerson students.

Specialized camps run in a half-day format, with the opportunity for full-day camps for eight weeks from June 24th through August 16th.  Morning camps run from 9:00am to 12:00pm and afternoon camps run from 1:00pm-4:00pm, with before and after camp child care available each day from 8-9am and 4-6pm.

Online registration is now open.  A non-refundable deposit of $25 per half-day camp plus a one-time registration fee of $15 per camper is required at time of registration.  We accept payment through electronic funds transfer, VISA and MasterCard.  All balances are due June 1, 2013.  If camps are added after June 1st, payment in full is required at time of registration.  Step by step directions for registering online.

We've added some new Dance Camps!
Shake it Up!
Week 1 PM
Grades 2-4
This new camp will explore different types of dancing, and use music based on the popular show "Shake it Up" on the Disney Channel.  We will do an informal hip-hop inspired performance for the other summer campers at the end of the week.  We will also have time to explore some other dance styles, such as salsa, bali-wood, merenge and tap.  Come join us for a week of shaking it up fun!

Ballet Basics
Week 4 AM
Grades K-2
This camp will teach the basics of ballet.  We will explore what ballerinas wear and use to do performances and make tutus and tiaras.  We will also read through famous ballet stories and put on an informal performance for the other summer campers at the end of the week from the Nutcracker.

Theater Dance
Week 4 PM
Grades 1-3
We will learn about different types of theater dance, expression, stage make-up and hair styles.  We will create our own costumes and put on an informal performance for other summer campers using fosse style dancing and tap.
