The After School Program is available on a drop-in basis for all students from 2:45pm-6:00pm. No need to pre-register or pre-pay, we're here for our families whenever the need arises.  Emerson’s caring and dedicated childcare staff is committed to providing a safe environment for play, enrichment classes and age-appropriate activities for all children. Emerson Childcare is fully licensed by the State of Michigan Department of Social Services and follows all of its rules and guidelines. Many of the program’s policies are designed to meet these guidelines.

Children in the After School Program are divided according to grade levels and offered a simple, nutritious snack. Age-appropriate games, crafts and activities are offered by the after school program staff in addition to outside play. The library is used for reading and studying with homework time set aside right after school. Throughout the day, there is ample opportunity for cross-age group play and friendships.

Morning childcare is available for lower school students from 7:30am-8:15am for a small fee. Students that take the bus to school and siblings of Middle School students are not charged a fee. Games, movies, and arts and crafts are available during this time in the library. The Middle School day begins at 8:00am and students may arrive as early as 7:30am. In such cases, parents will not be charged a morning childcare fee.
