EMERSONCAPITAL CAMPAIGN

What will the renovated Library Media Center include?
While plans for the LMC are not yet finalized, we expect the renovation to include:

How much do we need to raise for the Library Media Center?
The cost estimates and architectural plans are in the final planning stage.  An important aspect of the planning is to ensure that the renovation is completed in the most cost effective manner possible.  We are pleased to report that the school has already raised approximately $275,000 for the project.

When will the Library Media Center renovation begin?
Given the central role of this space in the daily lives of all our students, renovation must take place over the summer months.  Emerson will begin construction only when we have raised the full amount needed to fund the renovation.

Will my Annual Fund or Auction Gift go toward the Capital Campaign?
We are extremely grateful for all the Annual Fund gifts we have received. However, Annual Fund gifts do not count toward the Campaign because income from the Annual Fund is a critical part of our operating budget. Every year we depend on this income to help bridge the gap between tuition and the full cost of educating our children. The Annual Fund is not "gravy" and therefore cannot be re-directed to projects of this magnitude without impacting our daily operations. Gifts to the Campaign and the Annual Fund will be acknowledged and recognized separately.

Similarly, the revenue from the auction is a vital source of general fund income and provides very generous support to financial aid. This revenue is not intended to meet the cost of new capital expenditures.

Do you want me to contribute to the Annual Fund and the Capital Campaign?
Yes. It is our hope that you will choose to participate in the Annual Fund and the Capital Campaign. Emerson understands that there are multiple demands on all of our resources, including other worthy charitable causes. However, the transformation of our facility is truly a turning point in the school's history. This is a unique opportunity to help ensure Emerson's legacy for future generations. During our Campaign, we hope you will make Emerson School your philanthropic priority, and join the Emerson community's commitment to providing the best learning environment for our children.

How do I make a gift to the Capital Campaign?
Emerson encourages you to consider a “stretch” gift that can be paid out over a period of up to five years.  Donors can design a flexible payment schedule, and Emerson is happy to receive pledge payments or out-right gifts in the form of cash or stock.
