Dear Emerson Families,
When I drove into the parking lot yesterday, I noticed that the Challenge signs had blown down and wondered if we should try to re-hang them. Fairly soon after that, Sue Johnson came to tell me some very exciting news. A parent had called to offer a $25,000 gift toward Meet the Challenge, which not only met the $80,000 challenge, but with other gifts received this week, put us over the top at $91,082. As a community not only have you met the Challenge, but you have also brought us over the finish line two weeks early. There aren’t words to describe how elated I am. The outpouring of support by the Emerson Community, especially in these trying times, was phenomenal. Parents, alumni parents, grandparents, alumni, faculty and staff have joined together to Meet the Challenge. We received 125 gifts, 100 of which were under $1000- wonderful evidence that every gift made a difference. If you were considering making a gift to the Challenge and have not yet done so, we welcome your additional gifts.
I send special kudos to Faith Cuenin, who with her husband Jerry, chaired the Capital Campaign and Sue Johnson and Jorie Clark who have worked untiringly to bring the campaign to a successful close. In addition, I am so grateful to our anonymous donor who made the challenge
possible.
Because of everyone’s generosity, construction on the LMC will begin in June. The 2009-2010 school-year will present many new opportunities for Emerson students. Thank you. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Pat Adams
Head of School
